SHOOTSAC SNEAKS INTO MARCUS BELL/GREG GORMAN WORKSHOP!
fri. october 26, 2007   |

Those shootsacs are so low profile that they are now sneaking their way into workshops across the country! Last week, with the help of Joe Rumore , Shootsac decided to crash the Marcus Bell and Greg Gorman workshop in NYC! For those who don't know, check out

Marcus Bel;, phenomenal Australian wedding photographer

and

Greg Gorman, photography icon

All of the evidence (photos) below by private investigator Joe Rumore:

See how sneaky Shootsac is--hanging out on Marcus Bell without him even noticing:

Here is Long Island photographer, studio owner and conference attendee Joe McGahan of Joseph Michael Photography Joe's Site with the Shootsac:

Joe says, "... Everything I need while shooting is right here at my waist... I couldn't imagine shooting a wedding anymore without my prime lenses right at my side..."

Here's the winner: Joe Galioto of "The Image Maker" in Mendham, NJ Image Maker Site

Stay posted because that sneaky Shootsac has big plans over the next couple of months!

THE SHOOTSAC BOOTH IS A BIG HIT!
thu. october 18, 2007   |

Today was our first day at Photoplus and I am excited to report that it was a huge hit! Our booth was slammed all day and I think it was really fun for all of us to play in the show with the big boys and do so well.

A few shots of the booth and us:

Dream Team, Marisa, Me, Keats:

A bunch of other great stuff happened too! I did tons of interviews for different magazines and one is already up! Check out this link and article from Lou Lesko:

Also, I was on a great site called iJustine. It's all about this great girl named Justine who has a live feed of her whole life and she talks all about cool techy stuff and other various things. She's super popular in the video blogging/live feed world and it was so much fun to meet her! Check out the clip where she chats with me:

Our super video team, Lan & Vu captured the whole thing also, along with my shoot yesterday, and tons of tradeshow stuff, and I cant wait to show you more of that! Well, I've got to catch a 7am flight back to LA, so stay tuned for more NYC updates as they happen from the NYC crew. :)

HEADED TO NYC!
mon. october 15, 2007   |

I am officially on my way to NYC for Photoplus! In honor of our first real big girl booth, we will be running some huge specials for people who come and see us at the booth, so come on by! Also, an EMAIL BLAST with a brand new discount code will be coming to you in the next day, so keep an eye out for it--it's a good one!

Also, I just heard that the flamingo costume from one of the winners of the blu/shootsac contest WILL be making an appearance on the tradeshow floor. With any luck, the flamingo will be there on Thursday so we can all have our photo taken together!!

SHOOTSAC FEATURING LAUREN CHAPMAN!
fri. october 12, 2007   |

I love sharing photos here of other photographers who use the shootsac and I want to start showcasing more of you! If you have photos of yourself using the shootsac and want to write in a little bit about yourself and send photos, please do! Send all sac photos to flamingo@shootsac.com

Today's featured photographer is Lauren Chapman of Open Field Photography! Lauren is such a fantastic girl--she's so warm and open, I bet that brides who meet with her book her immediately because she is one of those people that it's impossible not to like. And you'll WANT to not like her because she's so pretty and smart and fun, but you can't because she's nice too. And a really good photographer.

Here's some photos of Lauren that she sent in using her shootsac "commando", as in, sans cover:

And in the traditional fashion, I stole the following images from her BLOG:

Check out these two seniors, LOVE these!

And a few wedding shots:

AND THE WINNER IS...
tue. october 9, 2007   |

Okay, there were SO many awesome, creative entries! I have had a blast over the few days watching the entries fill my inbox, some of them were absolutely hilarious! However, one particular entry really stood out for me and so the big winner of Bludomain's Madison website, as well as a SHOOTSAC is.......

TRINA KNUDSEN!!!

Trina's photo was not only creative and beautiful, but look at that use of off camera flash! This girl should be teaching some workshops because that light is lovely. Plus, I felt terrible for her with that awful, fake shootsac she's got going on there, so a nice brand spankin' new one will outfit this woman in style. Two photos from Trina:

HOWEVER

There were so many fab entries, that I wanted to show you the ones that really popped out. ALL of the following winners will ALSO win a shootsac!

From Clary Pfeiffer, who may be using her new shootsac as a diaper bag soon!

From Julie, who will no longer have to just dream of a shootsac

From Matt Heger & Amanda Stogsdill, who are so super creative!

And of course to Shannon McFarland, who must be some woman to 1. find and make her own supersize shootsac costume (if you are willing to come be our mascot at tradeshows or loan us that outfit, let me know), and 2. to get her husband to do that:

Winners, please email me your address to info@shootsac.com Thanks to everyone for playing and stay tuned for more fun stuff this week and a BIG SPECIAL in honor of Photoplus coming up soooooon!

WE NEED YOUR OLD BROKEN LENSES!
mon. october 8, 2007   |

Hello there lovely shoosac-ers! We have one more request for you to help us get prepared for the NYC tradeshow--we need your old, unusable, broken lenses.

This is not a cry for lenses that "sort of" work, that you "might" fix, or that you ever want back. No, no, we need those lenses that have gone to that great lens graveyard in the sky (or somewhere in your house).

ALL lenses are needed (but if you have a 70-200 that dies, that would be so awesome!!). If you can send us your old broken lens paperweights, please send them RIGHT AWAY to:

Ruth Meyers
C/O Metro Children's Services
185-08 Union Turnpike suite 101
Fresh Meadows, N.Y. 11366

They need to be there NO LATER THAN Monday, October 15th.

Thanks!!! Please leave a comment here or email us if you can send us something :)

CONTEST ADDENDUM
fri. october 5, 2007   |

It's come to my attention that not everyone has a SHOOTSAC yet--how strange! In any case, if you don't have one and you want to enter the contest, no problem--just improvise! Use what you've got. If you don't have one, maybe you will be rewarded!!

Also, the DEADLINE TO ENTER IS EXTENTED UNTIL THIS TUESDAY, OCTOBER 9

So read the post below and get those entries in to flamingo@shootsac.com!

A CONTEST!!!
wed. october 3, 2007   |

This is so exciting! BLUDOMAIN has given me a website to give away any way that I want! The site that is up for grabs is their brand new MADISON template that features images by your own Jessica Claire!

HERE'S THE DEAL

I want to see you guys go out there and take a photo with a pink flamingo and your shootsac. You must also have something BLUE in the photo! The flamingo can be one of our shootsac flamingos, or one of your choosing.

So three things in the photo: 1. A PINK FLAMINGO 2. A SHOOTSAC 3. SOMETHING BLUE (blu!)

Send your entries to flamingo@shootsac.com by this Sunday night, October 7th. BE CREATIVE!!
